These mugs are discounted because of cosmetic flaws.
☆ Some examples of cosmetic flaws would be things like bumpy glaze texture, tiny chip on the foot (that will be sanded), tiny crack in the rim (sealed with glaze, so no leaks or further cracking), or glaze that ran off the mug and needed to be sanded down on the foot.
☆ All of these flaws are purely cosmetic and do not affect the safety or functionality of the mug.
☆ All mugs are food, dishwasher and microwave safe.
